Botantical Dipytch

This mixed-media piece served as the product of a series of creative exploration. The project began with a focus on skills; my class drew outside and focused on settling ourselves in the scene. From there, I experimented with different mediums; I made pieces with chalk, pastels, micron pens, acrylic paint, and graphite pencils. In the end, these two pieces went well together for a Botanical Diptych, emphasizing the theme of my exploration which was emptiness. I found that naturally one’s eyes fill in atmospheric space. I explored this concept by focusing on the usage of light and dark space.
