Sucker Brook Graphite

This piece developed outdoors at Sucker Brook, nestled in the woods behind my high school. Created as the first project of my 11th grade Portfolio class, it marked a vital step in the development of my technical and observational skills.

Sitting quietly by the brook, I was provided a peaceful environment that helped me immerse myself in the piece; I aimed to showcase both the tranquility and the power that nature possesses.

The composition guides the viewer's eyes down the dark, reflective water towards the background, where the flowing water contrasts with the hard geometric shapes of the rocks.
