Identity Portrait

This piece served as the culmination of my 10th grade year Humanities Studio Art class. After analyzing how portraiture expresses identity, I created an acrylic painting that explored my identity. This piece features me looking beyond the painting; behind me is the beach access to Sullivans Island, a beach I frequented in my childhood. Here, I am reminiscing on a place where I have always felt truly myself and connected to my surroundings.
